Name: Mladin Sesum |
Age: 2 Yrs |
Nationality: Bosnian Serb |
Special Circumstances
Mladin lives with his grandparents in a remote mountain village called Zupica, about 45 minutes by car from the nearest town. He and his grandparents live in a two-room shed they have turned into a "house". They have no electricity or running water. Mladin has very little interaction with children his age, and he is very shy. The KIDS program has provided this delightful little boy with food, clothes, disposable diapers, shoes and toys. He is gradually becoming more open and playful.
History
Mladin's parents were never married, and his 21-year-old mother is now married to a man who does not want Mladin. This is why he now lives with his grandparents. His family lived in the town of Drvar before the war, but when they and other Serbs fled the embattled city, a Croat family took over their house. When Mladin's family returned last year, they moved out to the country to the shack where they now live. The family lives off the produce from a small garden, as well as eggs from a few chickens and milk from their cow.
Prayer Needs
Please pray for the emotional well-being of this little boy. He needs more social and educational interaction with the outside world. Pray that our team will be able to continue sharing the love of Jesus with him and his family. Please pray that the family will be able to have a good crop this year and have enough food to last through the winter. |
